Damodar Arts Village Opens

October 20, 2025

The Damodar Arts Village has officially opened as Fiji’s new cultural and lifestyle landmark, revitalising the iconic Arts Village, formerly known as the Cultural Centre and Marketplace of Fiji. The Village is located at Pacific Harbour - close to resorts such as The Pearl, Nanuku and Beqa Lagoon properties. A short drive from Suva and the Coral Coast, the opening of the Arts Village is another great opportunity for guests to immerse themselves in Fijian Culture.

The Village aims to position Pacific Harbour as Fiji’s leading arts, culture, and leisure destination, appealing to both domestic visitors and international tourists.

The first Cultural Performance show will by on Saturday 1st November. Other features will be the opening of the Starlight Cinema.  Opening date of this exciting open air cinema is yet to be confirmed.

The Arts Village will feature

* Cultural Performances & Firewalking: Traditional dance ‘meke’ shows, storytelling sessions, and the sacred Beqa firewalking ceremony — an awe-inspiring performance of courage and tradition.

* Authentic Fijian Village Experience: Visitors can explore a recreated Fijian island village featuring a bure kalou (spirit temple), a Chief’s bure, and artisan bures where traditional crafts and skills are demonstrated.

* Artisan and Lifestyle Precinct: Boutique shops, local crafts, and cafés offering unique experiences that encourage visitors to linger and engage.
